Ikebana flower saucer, Raku flower saucer, Raku ikebana saucer

£65.00

A saucer for arranging flowers, steams or leaves in the ikebana style.

The saucer was thrown on my wheel here in my garden studio in Suffolk. It has been glazed in a turquoise glaze which crackles and crazes during the Raku firing. Raku firing is when pots are removed from a red hot kiln when the glaze is molten and placed in a barrel of sawdust. This extreme way of firing produces ware that is unique each time as the reduction process in the barrel is different every time.

The pot isn’t very high fired and not suitable for food use. It does hold water but it would be best to place it on a waterproof surface as it’s not completely glazed all over.

It measures just under 7 inches across and just over 1.5 inches high. It comes with a flower ‘frog’ to enable you to arrange flowers.

Your purchase will come carefully wrapped and packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. I don’t use any plastic in my packaging and it’s fully recyclable.

Thank you for looking and please don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
