Ikebana flower bowl, Flower arranging bowl, Japanese flower bowl
A stoneware bowl and flower frog for Japanese ikebana flower arranging thrown in dark brown clay in my garden studio.
The bowl is glazed in a clear glaze of my own recipe. The outside of the bowl is left unglazed to show the clay. The frog is unglazed and is the part that is used to hold your stems and leaves in place for your flower arrangement.
The set comes with some little metal scissors, all packaged together in a cardboard gift box. It also has this lovely quotation in the box
At its heart, the Japanese art of ikebana is about celebrating an intimate connection with nature.
To practice ikebana is to find inspiration in the seasons, favour unassuming blooms and branches, seek balance and simplicity, and remain fully present in the moment.
It is a beautiful, pure antidote to our age of distraction and excess.
From Ikebana Unbound by Amanda Luu & Ivanka Matsuba
A beautiful gift for anyone who loves flowers.
I don’t use any plastic in my packaging and it’s fully recyclable.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
